Ingredients for making traditional Daal
Half Coconut cut Into cube
Moong daal 100 gm
Vegetables as per your choice
I used cauliflower, beans , carrot, green peas, carrot , potato.
Oil
Turmeric powder
Salt to test
Sugar (optional)
Ginger paste
Tomato
Ghee/clarified butter
Cumin seeds
Bey leafs
Whole garam masala
Garam masala powder
Method
Dry roasted moong daal then boil it with turmeric powder and salt. Add clarified butter/ghee and fried the coconut. Keep aside , Half Boil all vegetables
In the same kadai add some oil and add cumin seeds and whole garam masala . Add ginger paste to it , add tomato and cooked for few minutes, add salt if needed, add boiled moong daal and boiled vegetables and cook for 6-7 minutes, add fried coconut to it and then add ghee and garam masala powder and switch off the flame .
