This is a case of pregnancy of unknown location with a concerning adnexal mass that could represent an ectopic pregnancy. However, it is inconclusive. Appropriate counseling for the patient is necessary and repeat HCG and US is needed in 7-10 days. This patient ultimately progressed to have a normal intra-uterine pregnancy and the mass is unchanged. The mass does not have the typical appearance of a corpus luteum and needs continued follow-up. The point-of-care ultrasound allows the initial treating clinician to make specific recommendations and informed decisions regarding this patient's care - all very efficiently and immediately at the bedside without delays.
