We gonna to make Shahi Tukda in Ghewar Style. . ‘Shahi Tukda’ also known as ‘Double ka Meetha’ is a delicious Indian Dessert , which can be prepared very easily at home without putting in much efforts. This famous Hyderabadi dessert which gets its richness from the Condensed milk and dry fruits. The name itself is a reminiscent of its royal background, wherein it was often served after lavish meals. Here’s an easy way to prepare this delicacy at home. Especially, if you have some special guests coming over for Lunch / dinner. INGREDIENTS • 8 Large White Bread slices • 200 Gms. Sugar • 1 cup Desi Ghee ( Clarified Butter ) • 1 handful crushed pistachios • 1 handful crushed almonds • 4-5 crushed Cardamom • 1 Ltr. Full Cream Milk. RECIPE • To make Rabdi : Put a Wok on gas , boil 1 Ltr. milk in medium flame until the milk is reduced to about 1/4th of its original quantity. Do not forget to stir continuously, otherwise the milk will stick to bottom. once the milk is reduced and turns Pink , add cardamom powder, 2 Tbsp Sugar, Almonds and Pistachios and mix well. Continue to heat it by stirring continuously for 5 more minutes. Delicious Rabdi is made, Transfer it to a Pot. • Now we make Sugar Syrup : Take a saucepan and heat 2 Glass of water along with sugar, once the sugar dissolves . Stir and Let it boil on Low flames , Once the sugar syrup turns a little thick. It will take around 10 Minutes. Sugar Syrup is ready. Put off the stove and transfer the Sugar syrup to a Large Bowl, keep aside for Cooling. • Mean while take 1 Slice of Bread, take one round sharp edged pot / metallic Lid of Container or so , of same size of Bread , Put it on Bread and cut in round shape, and then take a Smaller ring and put in middle of Bread and make a whole. Prepare all the Bread slices like this. • Put a Wok on gas stove and Heat Clarified Butter ( Desi ghee ) once it hot shallow fry the bread till they are crisp and golden brown on each side. Once the bread slices are fried, put them in sugar syrup to soak for about 2-3 minute. • Put 1 Sugar syrup Soaked bread on the serving dish. Pour the rabdi over the bread slice nicely , then take one more Sugar syrup Soaked bread and place on the first rabdi poured bread and Pour the rabdi over the 2nd bread slice too, nicely , garnish with the chopped Alomonds and Pistachios or any other Dry Fruits of your Choice .
