We explain how to unlock the 120fps output mode in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on the PS5 when connected to a compatible HDMI 2.1 display, for example the LG C1, CX, C9 & the Samsung QN95A. With the "Performance" and "Performance RT" [Graphics Mode], the game is still rendered internally at 60fps, but by frame-doubling and letting the PS5 output at 120fps, this will lower the input lag on the display side, leading to an even more responsive gaming experience. Note that due to the 32Gbps HDMI 2.1 bandwidth limitations of the PS5, 4K 120Hz output will be capped at YCC422. @mattsm0منذ 3 سنوات According to digital foundry, this is to reduce the frame time impact on the rare occasion of a frame drop. From a 16 ms frame time skip, to an 8 ms. It's still 60fps, but some TVs will lower the resolution and others will also cause issues with the HDR as well so it's recommended to keep that setting off right now. 37

Prior to this update, if "Enable 120 Hz id="hidden3" class="buttons"> Output" was set in the system settings, using the Performance RT or Performance mode would auto-detect a 120 Hz-capable display and use a 120 Hz output mode. While this did not change the game's frame rate, it did reduce input latency by ~8 ms. However, entering this mode introduced visual compatibility issues with some displays that we didn't feel comfortable imposing automatically on players. @stu1844منذ 3 سنوات It’s 120 HZ not 120 FPS. Cmon dude. You now get 4K 40FPS@120Hz. The processing is doubled and u have a 30% FPS adjustment Locked. That’s pretty sweet and many TVs don’t do this. I have a 2019 Q80R and surprise mine does it 1

@mattg082منذ 3 سنوات I misspoken on a comment earlier where HDTVTESTS pin pointed my issue. I thought 120hz was forcing 8 but HDR. However what it’s doing is not 4:4:4. You lose that detail due to the PS5 2.1 limited bandwidth. To me it seems Insomniac did their job. Had it ready for VRR at least, and Sony has still not increased hdmi 2.1 to 40gbps. This feature may come in handy in the future. But IMO it degrades the picture. If playing in 30fps it’s fine, you still get full RGB/HDR. Also you could turn off HDR in 120hz forced. But this game is all about HDR, and simply phenomenal showcase. ....وسعت

I don't care id="hidden9" class="buttons"> about the rare frame being dropped looking minutely better. I want 60FPs at the best dynamic resolution and upscale to 4k. 40fps is divisible by 120.
Smoother framerate without frametime judder.

Is that the hardware in PS5/XBX can actually render these games at a constant 120fps but at 1440p or even 1080p. r />And it’s not even hdmi 2.1. Hdmi 2.0 can easily handle these resolutions and Hz.
