Today Video : Rotisserie Chicken with Tandoori Masala | Whole Roasted Chicken using Morphy Richards OTG.
This dish will be the star of your Christmas or New Year Party. It is best served with Mint Yogurt Chutney, some lemon wedges on the side.
INGREDIENTS
Whole Chicken
Marination #1
Juice of 1 Lemon
Salt
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tablespoons
Kashmiri Chilli Powder – 2 tablespoons
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tbsp
Marination #2
Thick Yogurt - 4 Tbsp
Red Chilli Powder - 2 Tbsp
Pepper Powder -1/4 Tsp
Turmeric Powder -1/4 Tsp
Kasoori Methi - 2Tbsp
Coriander Powder - 1Tbsp
Garam Masala – 1 Tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tablespoon
Salt as required
Chaat Masala 1Tsp
Step 1 : Wash the Whole Chicken pat it dry really well with a paper towel
Step 2: Make several gashes all through the chicken so that the Marination goes inside.
Step 3 : In a Mixing bowl add all the ingredients given under Marination #1 .
Step 4:Now apply this mix all over the chicken to tenderize it, make sure to marinate all parts of the Chicken including the cavity .
Step 5:Once it is done refrigerate it for 30 minutes
Step 6: In a bowl add all the ingredients given under Marination #2 and mix well .
Step 7: After 30 min remove the chicken from refrigerator and apply the second Marination all over the chicken apply it all over the chicken, especially in the gashes that you made earlier, and set it aside to marinate in the fridge for about 1 hour .
You can also leave it overnight if you can wait .
Step 8 : Once you have let the chicken marinate well, take it out of the fridge, and set it on the counter to thaw for at-least 30 minutes, before you put it in the oven.
Step 9:Tie the Legs with the help of a strong thread , same way tie the wings at the back with a thread and insert a toothpick to stay at place while backing
Step 9 :Attach the long neck of the chicken using tooth picks so that it will be always in place during the baking process.
Step 10 :Insert the Rotisserie Rod through the chicken .
Step 11: Insert the Rotisserie Hook with the chicken at the center both sides and tighten them with screws .(shown in the video )
The hooks should be tightened as such that they pierce and grip the chicken .
Step 12 :Apply little oil all over the chicken .
Step 13:Preheat oven to 200 degree C for 10 Mins
Step 14: COOK THE CHICKEN IN OVEN AT 250 DEGREE C FOR 1 HOUR USING THE ROTISSERIE MODE .
Step 15: Once it is done remove the chicken and cut the thread and serve at once with mint chutney .
